چکیده

The continuous wavelet transform (CWT) is a common signal-processing tool for the analysis of nonstationary signals. We propose here a new B-spline-based method that allows the CWT computation at any scale. A nice property of the algorithm is that the computational cost is independent of the scale value. Its complexity is of the same order as that of the fastest published methods, without being restricted to dyadic or integer scales. The method reduces to the 6ltering of an auxiliary (pre-integrated) signal with an expanded mask that acts as a kind of modi6ed ‘9 a trous’ 6lter. The algorithm is well-suited for a parallel implementation. ? 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.

Fast Continuous Wavelet Transform Based on B-Splines

The Continuous Wavelet Transform (CWT) is an effective way to analyze nonstationary signals and to localize and characterize singularities. Fast algorithms have already been developed to compute the CWT at integer time points and dyadic or integer scales. We propose here a new method that is based on a B-spline expansion of both the signal and the analysis wavelet and that allows the CWT comput...

Using PCA with LVQ, RBF, MLP, SOM and Continuous Wavelet Transform for Fault Diagnosis of Gearboxes

A new method based on principal component analysis (PCA) and artificial neural networks (ANN) is proposed for fault diagnosis of gearboxes. Firstly the six different base wavelets are considered, in which three are from real valued and other three from complex valued. Two wavelet selection criteria Maximum Energy to Shannon Entropy ratio and Maximum Relative Wavelet Energy are used and compared...

Fast computation of the continuous wavelet transform through oblique projections

We introduce a fast simple method for computing the real continuous wavelet transform (CWT). The approach achieves O N ( ) complexity per scale and the filter coefficients can be analytically obtained by a simple integration. Our method is to use P wavelets per octave and to approximate them with their oblique projection onto a space defined by a compact scaling function. The wavelet templates ...

Co-movement among industry indices of Tehran Stock Exchange, Wavelet Coherence approach

Co-movement analysis has a significant role in recourse allocation, risk management, etc. This study uses the novel approach of wavelet coherence in continuous wavelet transform framework to investigate the correlation dynamic and spillover effect of 10 main sector indices of Tehran Stock Exchange, in time and frequency domains. Analyzing the data indicates that correlation structure among TSE ...

A Fast and Efficient Computational Wavelet Transform Structure for the 2d Over-complete

We studied the computational complexity of the over-complete wavelet representation for the commonly used Spline wavelet family with an arbitrary order. By deriving a general expression for the complexity, it is shown that the inverse transform is significantly more costly in computation than the forward transform. In order to reduce the computational complexity, a new spatial implementation is...
